I have a giant wasp nest in my patio door upstairs. Will they go away?

Its about as big as a large grapefruit. Will the wasps just go away, so I can knock out the nest this fall or how should I get rid of this nest? It looks like a giant glob of beige colored stuff with holes all over it. If I open the door, they will attac me I suppose. How do I deal with this?
Oh yeah, there are about 50 wasps crawling all over it too.

      I would do it when it gets colder. If you live somewhere where it does get cold. They leave for the winter.

      Do not go near the nest at all!!
      Call a professional pest control service to handle the problem.

      There is a wasp spray that lets you stand away and spray them. Do it in the morning while they are least active. Still be careful though. If you are allergic leave them alone. You can also hire perfessionals to do it.
