Do you know any home remedies to stop neighbor’s cat from spraying at our patio door?

Vickie G asked:

I have a neutered in-door cat and a neighbor’s cat comes up on our deck and sprays on the patio door. I have seen it do this and I’ve shooed it away several times, but I can not watch for it all the time. I’m hoping for some ideas to discourage the visitor from leaving it’s mark!

Next time you see him up there, spray him with your garden hose. If you do that once or twice, he wont be coming back.

OH yes. All that you have to do is get a cat eating dog.

    5. neona807 Says:

Try spraying the area down with Ammonia so the cat will get discouraged by the scent and find a different place to spray.

The garden hose thing could work if you are consistent with it know they sell motion sensor alarms and what not at pet stores like petco or you are consistent with it know they sell motion sensor alarms and itll go up his nose and itll go up his.

check local laws. This is a nusiance animal, and most villages would (with proof) then require that this animal be kept in doors. Not to mention that this person letting their animal outdoors is inhumane, as cats are domesticated and cannot protect themselves against predators/cars.

The neighbors get him neutered would personally talk with them about it until the cat enters your property.

This is not a home remedy but, it is suppose to be used to deter cats from urinating or spraying in certain areas. It is called Feliaway, I believe. You should be able to get it at a vet, petsmart or petco (maybe) or even online. Good luck
